Methods

Filesharing can be dangerous if done incorrectly. Here are some methods that can be employed to suit your business’s needs.

Isolated, self-hosted

Highest file security. Files are isolated only to specific computers in a network, and servers are hosted in your office. Not very cost efficient, but has the highest security configurations.

Isolated, managed

Convenient and secure. You do not manage any hardware or software, and it’s configured to only allow your network to access the files. More cost efficient, and you have a solution without needing technical knowledge.

Private Network

“Click & forget” style. File sending only. Send large files up to 10GB per file to your clients. Your clients can only see the files shared to them, and it can expire. Cost efficient. Great for agencies / designers / creative industry.

Public Network

Simplest to start, but require a certain amount of configuration. Self-help. Easy to deploy, but not so easy to maintain long term. Can get expensive quickly. Dropbox, Google Drive, OneDrive or Box.com.

Examples of Use

Filesharing networks can be used in a multitude of ways, and can be configured to suit most basic or advanced needs.
